TIME SPACE EXISTENCE Exhibition
Behind every building – from the simplest home to the tallest tower – there is an idea: philosophy and ideas are as fundamental to architecture as brick, concrete and drywall.
As part of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia, TIME SPACE EXISTENCE teases out these philosophies, and examines their influence on the works of the most important practitioners today. The exhibition, held at the European Cultural Centre presents over 100 architects from 6 continents.
PLANE–SITE curated and produced an interview series with iconic protagonists, including Moshe Safdie (Israel & Canada), Fumihiko Maki (Japan), Richard Meier (USA), Kengo Kuma (Japan), Arata Isozaki (Japan), Tatiana Bilbao (Mexico), Denise Scott Brown (USA), Peter Eisenman (USA), Curtis W. Fentress (USA), Meinhard von Gerkan (Germany), Dirk Hebel (Switzerland), Frei Otto (Germany) and Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell (Singapore). From the poetic to the political, the interviews highlight the fundamental principles behind the practices and personalities of these legendary figures. The series was exhibited in Palazzo Bembo & Palazzo Mora, as well as on our Vimeo platform.
