A collaboration with ArchDaily
Every other year, an abundance of global architectural content is broadcast to the world from Venice during its much-celebrated Architecture Biennale. Exhibitions, publications, and events crowd the calendar from June to November, making it almost impossible for exhausted visitors to see and absorb everything.
In 2016 PLANE–SITE teamed up with ArchDaily and toured the national pavilions during the opening weekend. The visits and candid conversations with curators resulted in an exclusive video series that gives an international audience access to the pavilions and their authors.
The first features the creative director of the Biennale, Alejandro Aravena, who reflects on the political, environmental, and social imperatives behind the somewhat controversial theme, “Reporting from the Front.” Responding to the call to action, the curators of the American, Australian, British, Canadian, French, German, Kuwaiti, Spanish, and Swiss Pavilions discuss, in their own words, the concepts and motivations behind their exhibitions.
