Visualizing a rigorous research project for future development

Smart Nighttime Design is a collaborative research project spearheaded by Arup’s Lighting team with urban-lighting leader Leni Schwendinger. The Cartagena-sited project brought together social and technical research with community workshops in order to develop a prototype for sustainable public lighting.

PLANE—SITE collaborated on this long-term research project and pilot, and introduced Nighttime Design to a global audience as an emerging interdisciplinary field.
