Challenging traditional means of construction

When Daniel Libeskind and the European Cultural Centre made plans for a large architectural installation, Facing Gaia, for Venice’s Marinaressa Giardini, they turned to GRIP Metal to help realize it. GRIP Metal is an innovative construction technology, binding surfaces together sustainably and effectively.

PLANE—SITE documented the construction and opening of the installation, illustrating GRIP Metal’s major role in actualizing the work and elaborating on the complexity of its design, transportation and construction. Through interview and documentary, the film shows the imaginative potential of this emerging construction technology.
