Using the city as a design laboratory
See It Through Buffalo is an international project of the School of Architecture and Planning to document the complex relationship between a university and its city. Presented as a documentary film, See It Through Buffalo reveals the varied urban landscapes and histories of Buffalo and the school’s work within them over the past 50 years.
Despite sharp post-industrial decline, the city of Buffalo is rising once again. Students and faculty of the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning are an integral part of this process, using the city as a laboratory for design. On the occasion of their exhibition at the Time Space Existence biennial in Venice, PLANE—SITE interviewed students and faculty and shared the resulting video with media and online audiences.
